reflection on vice video -magdalena
One of the things that stuck out to me in this video was the question of whether or not it was worth going to art school (they answered no). This is something that I've thought a lot about the past few years. At times at felt I was at a disadvantage because I felt limited to certain resources. One thing that I've learned in the meantime is how important it is to not feel limited, and to take matters into your own hands. Most of the time, resources and opportunities won't be presented to you, you have to go after them on your own. I think that people who go to art school become used to easy access to resources and connections. When you have to find these things on your own it teaches you how you can accomplish other things in your life. Going forward this semester as I continue to develop my concept, I want to keep this in mind. I don't want to have the mentality that I can't do something. My goal is to push myself and work harder this year than I ever have before, to see what I can accomplish when I put my best effort into it.
