Gabby in Pensltucky

I needed some inspiration for my art and it was my luck that my friend invited me to go to central Pennsylvania to a hunting lodge with her. No I did not go hunting. We just went hiking through the woods and did some fishing.

I learned that fishing and I do not mix because I am not patient at all and could not catch anything.
Anyway moving on, back to the reason I went up to the middle of nowhere: nature and art. Since I broke my phone and there is no cell service in the middle of Pensltucky I was not checking my phone constantly and was able to be one with nature(yes the is as corny as it sounds). It was nice to get back to thing that drives me to make art. I realized that my art is my way of how I communicate the beauty and the fragility of nature that I observe.

I have been extremely lucky in the fact I have been able to travel and observe the beauty of different environments and habitats since I was little. The fact that all of them are in danger due to climate change makes a part of me dies inside.

During critique this week I was able to get feedback on my work since I have been making a lot of very literal work that does not have much depth. I have been struggling to take all this information in my head about climate change and make work out of it. Thanks to my group the idea of a podcast/doomsday audio piece might be the route for me right now. I am looking forward to writing these scripts and seeing what comes of them.

Also on the horizon a pool in sage..to be continued
