The 21 century is definitely different from past times for the fact that both the public and the artists are able to gain much easier access to the internet. Today, for an artist to exhibit his or her works, making way into a gallery becomes not the only means. Artists can easily upload their works onto their own website, Facebook, Instagram, and many other places. The general public can also find art works that they like through search engines that are fairly easy to operate. So I believe, for people who are interested in art work but lacked access, they definitely have easier access, and this could result in a growth of a larger population of the public paying attention to artworks. Also, the definition of art has definitely evolved. Art contains of not only paintings or photographs, but of much more creative stuff like performance art and many others. Since there is a larger variety of types, attracting more of the public to be interested in art becomes not surprising. However, what is considered art today may not be appreciable to every person. From my personal experience, modern art has not been very appealing to me. I remember visiting the MOMA, overhearing others’ conversations and wondering myself why a huge canvas with nothing but a dot would be on display. Some of the artworks created today seem to be produced for the sake of making art. Since the form of art today, is in a sense, somewhat weird, I am not sure if this would cause in an increase of interest in the public or decrease.

Success, in the field of art, is probably something very different from success in life in general. Success, in the field of art, in my opinion, is a sense of narcissism and self satisfaction. Making a million dollars a painting and making such paintings for the sake of money is not success, that I only consider a means of making a living. Success is sticking to yourself and believing in yourself even if the whole world disagrees.

Life, is a living span of a human being. The meaning of life is to take full advantage of this life span. The meaning of life in my opinion is to do the things you want to do and be the person you want to be. I once came across a saying “At the end of life, you regret what you did not do, not what you did”. Therefore, I believe in making the choices you want and gladly taking its consequences.
