So Tuesday was our second critique, and it went alright, I suppose. Perhaps I am too much of the sensitive type, but I am more open to respond to critique that is more of suggestions for future directions rather than a simple "this doesn't work." I like crits that say "this doesn't work," but also offer advice on how to fix things. Maybe I am too soft-hearted.
. Found a few calls for art, but I would very much like to discuss how to balance our application fees with the benefits of showing the work. (I am a penny-pincher, so I would like to find the optimal cost-benefit ratio.) Also, it'd be great to discuss how to professionally package and show large works and stretched canvas so ce I feel my art doesn't always adhere to the standard "mat and put into frame" procedure.
