Tergel: Art Packaging

One of the realizations that I had when watching Adam talk about his work for the ROCO show and the lengths he went to in order to display and transport his work was that artists are resourceful and extremely multi-talented.

Not everyone has the creativity to come up with solutions for display, transportation and in addition to that, creating the artwork itself. I found Adam's solutions to his display problems very simple yet very powerful! I definitely want to use the idea of a long wooden block to hold up prints! It's a simple, cheap solution to displaying artwork.

One of the challenges I will have as I move forward with my artwork is transportation. Since my artwork heavily relies on installation, I have to find a way to plan the installation ahead of time and then figure out how to transport my syringes and other work into the space.

It's going to require a lot of preparation and planning to execute properly. I have also been thinking about the safety of the artwork. Since I am planning on having the syringes suspended and facing people, I have to think about the possibility of people touching or falling onto the needles. I've been thinking about using glass to separate the syringes from the people viewing it. I just have to think about how I can install the glass in a way that doesn't intrude in the experience.
